Artemis Words Games

For me, the start of my creativity was gaming. I started playing role-playing games when I was a kid and that sparked my love of creating new characters and new worlds.

CONvergence 2022

CONvergence, in Minneapolis, MN, is my home convention. I go there every year, and volunteer in various capacities. For CONvergence 2021 I volunteered for Nerf Herding, the important at-con job of helping people get where they need to go.

Mekton Zeta: Where dreams began.

Well-worn books: The sign of a much-beloved role-playing games.

Mekton Zeta

I got into the narrative side of role-playing through Mekton Zeta by R. Talsorian Games. My copies of the original-generation Mekton Zeta books are dog-eared and seriously damaged from 25 years of hard use, but it’s worth it. I was part of the group that created and for 20 years ran the Mekton Zeta Mailing List.

I ran my biggest role-playing game campaign ever in this system: Shin Ginga Senki Metal Soldier (New Galaxy War Report: Metal Soldier), from 1998 to 2001. My friend, Rich Schreiber, ran the sequel, Shin Ginga Senki: Metal Soldier Z, from 2001 to 2004. The campaign world was officially retired in 2007, but I have a good deal of nostalgia for it.
